Today’s Scripture: Hebrews 13:9, NIV- “Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them.”
Do you recall multiple choice tests in school where you had to select the BEST answer? All answers had a measure of truth to them but only one was the correct answer. Life does this to us too and forces us to cry out to God for guidance to make the rightest choice. If we seek God’s will instead of attempting to choose what seems right, His grace strengthens us.
Have you ever made a choice and then the next second regretted your decision? We can doubt ourselves, but we find rest and strength in God’s will and grace.
In Hebrews 13 we are given directions as to how to choose. Which one is the best answer?
- Hebrews 13:1- Keep on Loving each other.
- Hebrews 13:2-Show hospitality to strangers because some may be angels sent to us.
- Hebrews 13:5- Be content with what we have.
- Hebrews 13:6- Remember that the Lord is our helper.
- Hebrews 13:8- Trust that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
- Hebrews 13:14- Continue to seek the One who is to come.
- Hebrews 13:15- Continually offer God a sacrifice of praise.
- Hebrews 13:16- Do good and share with others.
- Hebrews 13:18- Pray.
- Hebrews 13:21- Be confident that God has equipped us with everything we need to do His will.
- Hebrews 13:26- Thank God that grace is with us all.
- All of the above.
Choosing God we cannot make the wrong choice. His grace makes all answers right and that is our strength.
Today’s Prayer: Thank You Heavenly Father for being our strength. We place all our choices before You and trust Your grace. We desire Your will LORD. Free our hearts to love others out of our confidence in Christ Jesus. We praise You LORD by doing good and sharing Your grace with others. Thank You for equipping us with everything we need to do Your will. Thank You Lord for Your grace that is with us all. Amen.
