Today’s Scripture: And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous–to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” Luke 1:17 NIV.
It is the LORD who will turn my heart today towards His will. This is my prayer and affirmation today. I confess I can not turn it myself yet but superficially. It is the LORD who has the power to turn.
I believe that in asking the LORD to turn our hearts He will. There is strength in admitting we are powerless to do so on our own. I lay my heart before the LORD and ask Him to turn it towards righteousness.
It was an angel of the LORD who promised Zechariah in today’s scripture that his son John would do this to make way for the life of Jesus. John would turn hearts because the LORD first would turn his towards righteousness.
As we turn we will help turn others but only if it is the LORD who is directing the turn. Have you witnessed the LORD turning your heart? Where is He turning your heart today?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty powerful God, please turn my heart where You wish today. Turn my heart to righteousness. Make Your desires my desires. Help me to do that which is right today as I trust Your direction. Turn and prepare my heart. Amen.
