Today’s Scripture: Greet each other in Christian love. Peace be to all of you who are in Christ. 1 Peter 5:14 NLT Tyndale
Can you tell the difference when you are in your head and when you are in Christ? Not that we are ever really “out” of Christ but we can be in our flesh in an instant can’t we? I am not saying in an evil place just in our head instead of the spirit.
I knelt to pray and thought that I only want to write what the Holy Spirit wants written. I felt strangely peaceful. “Oddly” enough as I arose to read His Word my eyes fixed on “My purpose in writing is to encourage you and assure you that the grace of God is with you no matter what happens. (1 Peter 5:12 NLT Tyndale) Then “Peace be to all of you who are in Christ.”
The LIVING Word is amazing. You see, I am in the middle of preparing a talk for a group of men this week and I am praying to prepare what God wants for them and I have been thinking it was about Purpose. And what is my purpose? Just like Peter, my purpose is to write to encourage you and assure you that the grace of God is with you no matter what!
No matter your story, His grace is sufficient and in Him is peace…and purpose. Based on your life, what do you think your purpose is?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty Father, You humble me with Your greatness and Your peace. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit that keeps me in Christ. Forgive me when I turn to my flesh and I thank You for drawing me back to You and Your peace. Thank You for speaking to me and revealing my purpose. Please keep me in You and in Your peace. Amen

Christian Affirmations 4 Life
All too often, we claim to have a personal relationship with God, but, we rarely let God have a personal relationship with us. We seem to treat God as if The One God in you and I were a celebrity; somehow untouchable and distant. This is hardly the case. God is as close to each and all within every breath we take no matter what happens. Allow me to share with you a favorite lyric of mine.
Weather Good or Bad
Music by Randy David
Here I go…chasin’ sin for a season
when I know it will only bring me fall.
Like so many times before…I know for sure
temptation turns…the tables floored.
Now I go round and round
drop down to the ground and start to crawl.
In this weather,
I’m lookin’ to the Son
whether I should just stand still
or whether I should run.
Help me Lord to turn and leave it be.
Though life’s weather vane may point to pain,
I just can’t let sin have its reign.
Help me to grow through these times I have
weather good or bad.
Here on my knees
I know the clouds are breakin.’
Oh!….I see the sun.
There’s a tender change of heart.
Whether we be right, whether we be wrong.
weather’s gonna blow those seasons on.
And, when the sweltering heat
comes down on you don’t give in.
In this weather, keep lookin’ to the Son
whether you should just stand still
Or whether you should run.
Help us Lord, to turn and leave it be.
Though life’s weather vane may point to pain,
we just can’t let sin have its reign.
Help us to grow through these times we have
Weather Good or Bad.
Lord, help us grow through these times we have
Weather Good or Bad
Thanks M. A. for the song. You may not believe this but I rewrote this affirmation at the prompting of the Holy Spirit but actually my first writing was of a testimony in the intimacy of God that I experienced while running and stopping. It was there in the stopping where He promised to teach me and show me His joy and peace. Thanks for sharing the lyrics.Keep lookin to the Son.
Good question Tom: what is my purpose? I need to ask that every time I stand in the pulpit.
He is faithful when we pause to ask isn’t He Bill?! He will show us our purpose. The Spirit is in You and will complete the purpose He has in You. I am thankful you will ask and I am confident He will provide the message that is on purpose. For some reason you popped in my head when I was reading 1 John 4:5-6 this morning before logging in. Keep sharing what the Spirit gives you and those who know God will listen.
