Today’s Scripture: In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands, even those who refuse to accept the Good News. Your godly lives will speak to them better than any words. They will be won over by watching your pure, godly behavior. 1 Peter 3:1-2 NLT Tyndale
Our lives will speak better than any words. Do you ever wonder about what your life is saying? Do our lives speak joy in God or anxiety in life?
As I encourage others to follow after God’s heart and be who He created them to be, do I live it? 1 Peter is an awesome letter giving us direction on how we should live. This book is about doing things right, living right and desiring to serve God.
Do I just talk about using our gifts or do I courageously trust God with these gifts He has given me? Will I just speak as if God is speaking through me or will I live as if God is living through me?
What is your life speaking?
Today’s Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your word and the example of Jesus. Help me to live for You. Your timing is amazing and I know You are speaking. Thank You for the gifts You have given me. Help me to use them with all the strength and energy that You supply. Help me to live the Good News and belong to Christ. Help me to live in You so others will live in You. Amen

What is my life speaking? Great question to ponder this weekend.

It does make you think doesn’t. I have found as my children grow older that it becomes even more transparent. What do I want them to witness?! Thanks Dustin!

Thanks Tom! This is a question I constantly ask myself. Sometimes I find it’s not speaking of Christ at all. At those moments I try to quiet my life and cause it to begin to “confess” differently. the repented walk is a wonderful thing to talk about another thing entirely to live out isn’t it?
Tom Raines says
Amen Jelillie! It is nice to recognize when we are not in those “moments” and do what we need to do to slow down, quiet down and be there. Just this morning I was reminded that when we slow down for those moments that is where we are taught and where we witness joy…Best wishes!

I heard a quote once, think it was attributed to Francis of Assisi, but it said, “Preach the Gospel at all times; if necessary, use words.” And I reminded that while some may never enter a building where a Christian service is held, or indeed even open a Bible, they will look to me and my life and decide who this Jesus Christ is that I proclaim. Sobering thought. Powerful prayer. As always, I am so grateful to God for His Word (2 Timothy 3:16 rises up in my spirit). Thank you Tom for today’s affirmation! You and yours remain in my prayers.
