Today’s Scripture: I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; Psalm 130:5 ESV
I can feel David’s soul in this short chapter in Psalms. My soul waits on the LORD and in His Word I do find hope. From the depths of my soul I cry out and wait.
Can you feel your heart, your soul crying out to God? Out of the deepest parts of me I cry out to the LORD. As David promised here in Psalm 130, in His Word I do find hope.
My soul is on high alert for the LORD. Like the watchmen David references in verse six, my soul is waiting and looking for the LORD. Keeping watch to the point of exhaustion, I wait and look for the light of God on the horizon.
I do find hope and energy in the Word of God as I wait. David, I am feeling your heart today and I know the LORD is feeling mine.
Can you feel your heart yearning and reaching for God? Find hope in His Word and know He will redeem us and answer our cries.
Today’s prayer: LORD of Heaven I wait for You. I do find hope in Your Word. In Your Word I know You hear me and I hear You. LORD I am waiting expectantly for Your light and for Your direction. Filled with the hope I find in Your Word I know You will answer my cries. I cry out to know and do Your will. Amen

One of the most frustrating things is for me to wait and not hear. The answer is a long time coming. I have to remind myself about my hope. Thanks Tom.
Thanks Bill, the waiting is hard. I was thinking David painted that picture of the difficulties and the crying out!! Wonderful how we do find the hope in His Word as we read of His promises and sense how He is speaking right to us. I have failed to find hope any where else. The hope in hearing His promises strengthens me to wait and expect His answer will come in His perfect time. Thus lies the hope. Blessings my brother as you wait!!
A-men Tom I am praying this prayer this morning. “Watching until the point of exhaustion to find hope and energy.” I like that picture. It shakes me to my core and makes me know what I must do!
Tom, thank you; your post spoke to my heart!
Yes, what wondrous Hope we have in the Lord!
In Your Word, Almighty Lord, I discover glorious Light and Hope;
Your Word consumes – it is eternal and all-encompassing in scope.
May my heart experience Your Presence, my ears heed Your voice;
May my eyes gleam with the hope you give, as in You, God, I rejoice!
May God continue to bless and inspire you, dear brother in Christ!
Thanks Caroline, David really did draw us to his heart and our hearts and souls with this one. “my soul waits”. In HIs Word I do hope. Blessings!
YES! David certainly did draw our hearts…and his heart was one after God’s!
May we draw ever closer to the Lord, as our souls wait on Him!
Abundant blessings!!!
Amen! Nearer…
This was great, Tom . . .and it gave me hope to find hope in His promises while I’m waiting. God bless you as He fills you today!
Thanks Debbie! He and His Word is our source of hope. My soul waits!
Tom, waiting is so hard for me. Especially when it’s a long wait. THe older I get though, the more I’ve seen God’s hand in the ‘waiting’ and those times increase my faith.
He’s doing the most when we can’t see Him…(at least that’s what I’ve been told!:) )
Blessings my dear freind. You always bless my heart when you can drop by. Some time we just have to lean on what we have been told!! I have been told God loves me and in Tom 22:7 “waitin ain’t easy” hahaha…blessings and love to you and yours!
