Today’s Scripture: So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. 1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT
Working for the Lord gives me life. I came to 1 Corinthians 15 this morning to write about death and yet what I found was life. Revisiting an affirmation almost two years old that said “I die daily” I have gained a different perspective.
Paul is saying he was willing to risk everything, even death, to share the gospel of Jesus Christ; are we? Instead of finding death in these verses I found life. I found I am alive when I am in Christ.
When I give away the life, death and resurrection of Christ that has been given to me I find life. Christ is a life giving spirit just as Paul promises in 15:45. May we be enthusiastic and steadfast in sharing the good news that Christ died for all of us.
Can you give way the life you have found today? If you do not know this life please reach out to me and I will enthusiastically share the good news with you that He has given me.
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I thank You for Your Son Jesus and for His gospel. LORD, in You I find life. In sharing Your Gospel and Your love I live life to the full. I am alive in You Lord and I pray You use me and I pray for Your strength and Spirit to help me give all I have for You; enthusiastically. Amen

Hey Tom! Just wanted to share some bits from a book I’m reading right now if that’s okay…feel like it relates to this affirmation and where I’m at in my journey too. The author asked a question, regarding the roles we fill, “Do you realize that each one of these commitments [daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, spouse, mother, grandmother, boss, employee, friend, neighbor, student, community volunteer and/or lay minster] makes you a valuable missionary for Christ?” It was/is a poignant question for me because for so long, I’ve been “striving” to know what and how to do God’s will/work, that it has become this “nebulous” and seemingly never attainable task. And then I lose my joy, and the joy of the Lord is my strength. When I begin to see, and value, how God can use me in the HERE and NOW, I can echo Paul’s words, nothing I do for the Lord is ever useless. I am being very intentional to look at each one of my roles, with open ears and eyes, as to how God can use me in the here and now. He has been so faithful to use this earthen vessel for His glory! Thank you for the affirmation, questions, and prayer. As always, God uses Affirmations of God to affirm/confirm where He is leading and guiding me. Praise the Lord! As always, God bless you and yours Tom (sorry for the lengthy post)! Cindy

Thank you Cindy!! What a blessing you have shared here so please don’t apologize. You are being faithful to the Spirit and isn’t it amazing how we find our purpose in our darkest places and when praising Him? I think most of us seek our “purpose” I agree with you that in each of our roles God will use us. The more we love and seek His purposes the more we see ours! Thanks for sharing and confirming God’s Word and how in Him we are alive! Blessings my friend!
