Today’s Prayer: Proverbs 2:1- My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,
I love the “steps” given to us in Proverbs 2:1-5. The how-to manual is complete. Let us consider the first step in this divine order to RECEIVE MY WORDS.
How do you receive God’s Words? Is it a passing sermon, the reading of His Holy Scriptures, a Spiritual feeding, memorization, a personal experience, or lyric in a song? Just what are ways you can receive God’s Word into your heart? It is clear that a mere fly by is not what God’s Word is speaking of here. Receive is a verb, an action required on our part.
How great is it that we just have to receive. It is here for us. No need to create it, No need for a new way or a new revelation. God’s Word is here; written, spoken and revealed.
What are some ways you welcome and receive God’s Word?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I welcome and receive Your Word into my heart. Engrave Your Word in me O LORD. Prepare my heart, my mind and my soul to receive Your Word. Thank You for your divine order and for revealing to us the steps we can take to understand and know You. Fill me Holy Spirit and help me to receive all of You. Amen

The older I get the more I see the need for storing up scripture in my heart…and wouldn’t you know it, the older I get the harder it is for me to memorize scripture …or anything else for that matter!
I love it when something happens and treasured scripture is on the tip of my mind.
You’ve reminded me today to continue to memorize …thank you
Thank you Robin, great to hear from you! Yes I too am finding that memorizing and having the scriptures available is beneficial and encouraging in many ways. I want to improve my memory and I am sure this is a benefit as well as this getting older, and wiser, thing progresses! Blessings!
“your Word have I hid in my heart” rings out to me as I read this Tom. Good point. And I can certainly agree with Robin’s take. Thanks.
Thank you Bill for stopping by!! Isn’t it great to have things that pop up that are just hidden deep in there somewhere?!

My brother-in-law, Rick, (who God used mightily in leading me to the Lord [and who just transitioned to be with the Lord in July, ohhhh do we miss him]) used to always say to me when I was out there in the world, “From where do you get your truth Cindy?” For Christmas a few years back, he gave everyone in my family a Bible and read 2 Timothy 3…with a special focus on the 16-17th verses to all of us (Amplified). It rose it me today when I read your blog Tom: “Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.” How lovely to go back and meditate verse 17 as I continue to write out God’s plan for His vision in my life (He’s given me step 1 and 2…glory to God). I continue to pray for revelation and wisdom for all of us. God Bless, Cindy
Love it! Thanks Cindy for sharing the scripture. This is such a wonderful reminder! He has equipped us for every good work. Great to pray over God’s plan full of confidence knowing He has equipped us. His word and His plan are buried in us…I continue to pray for you! Blessings!

Good one, Cynth! I love Timothy and I love finding scripture that I receive and grabs a hold of my heart. James 1:12 was one of those verses that God directed me to during one of the toughest times of my life. (from your cousin)
And thanks Tom for again reminding me to think about the treasures we are given in the scriptures.
Thanks Katy for visiting, commenting and for sharing your treasures! Blessings!
