Today’s Scripture: Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. Galatians 6:8 NLT
Does the Spirit of God sometimes blow you away? Do you believe God knows your tomorrow? Seriously folks, just last night I visited a man’s blog that I respect and appreciate you can visit him at Cycleguy’s Spin.
Will the Spirit of God use others to speak to your heart? Absolutely! I gave my 2.5 cents worth in a comment to Bill last night. Then this morning, I just went back to this journey the Spirit has had me on and low and behold He has me at Galatians 6:8. I wrote this same affirmation just over two years ago.
The Spirit of God spoke to me way back in January of 2008 that all affirmations I would ever need would be found in the Word of God. I began that day harvesting Affirmations of God. In the face of many who have hijacked affirmations for personal gain, this verse gives me reassurance and renewed vigor to live only to please the Spirit. For in living to please the Spirit we receive everlasting life and God’s mercy and peace.
Do you live to please the Spirit? Put your seatbelt on it is a wonderful ride!
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I am humbled and blessed by Your Spirit. Thank You LORD for loving me and covering me with Your Spirit. LORD I only want to live for Your Spirit and trust You for reaping the harvest You intend for me. LORD guard my spirit and use me to share the sowing and reaping of everlasting life. Amen

Thanks for the mention Tom. I totally agree with you. Living for ourselves or to please the flesh or to do wave some type of “magic wand” is not what following jesus is about. Living to please Him in all we say and do is what it is at. Not as a works oriented thing but as a grace oriented thing. (Don’t you just love my use of “thing”?) Positive thinking or positive confession is not where it is. Reading the Word and believing He is in control is.
Thanks Bill! Your willingness to step into the fray really sparked something in me and then God in His amazing grace and omnipotence actually had the majesty to know I would be here the very next morning. Moments like this removes all doubt from me of His speaking and His will. I think you have started me on a path that I believe will be an interesting and challenging journey. But this is God’s journey and His Kingdom and I rely on Him to prepare me and the soil for the seeds He will use me to plant. Blessings to you Bill as you plant His seeds!
Just the topic alone I love because you don’t hear many people saying that they live to please teh Lord. It reminds me of the song called” It is well with my soul” AMEN
