Today’s Scripture: But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit. Romans 7:6 NLT
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to live in the Spirit all the time?
Like Paul we all know the results of sin living in us and when we live in sin. Don’t we find solace in knowing even Paul did things that he did not want to do? He said sin lived in him too.
But thanks be to God that Jesus Christ cleanses us from this body of sin. Jesus died for our sins and left the Spirit to live in us. When we turn to the flesh and the law we get the condemnation that comes with them but when we turn to the Spirit we get the life and living promised there.
I thank the LORD for the Holy Spirit and pray that more and more I will live in Him.
What helps you live in the Spirit?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Spirit of truth. Help me LORD to live in Your Spirit. Help me to turn to You and live in You. Forgive me for when I turn away to my flesh or to the law. I want to live in Your Spirit and produce the fruits You desire always. Amen

To live in the flesh is failure. The only way to live is in the Spirit.

Thanks Bill and I am so thankful God knows I am a failure/sinner and knows, like Paul, I continue to fail to do what I love to do and continue to fail in doing what I hate. Praise be to God for Jesus Christ and His Spirit whose plan is to redeem all of us failures:) Blessings to you in thanksgiving of grace!

I loved when you started in “but thanks be to God that Jesus Christ cleanses us . .. ” 🙂 Thankful too, with you! Something that helps me , Tom, is turning all my thoughts over to Him, as quickly as I can. That way He can point out where I’m heading off the wrong way.
God bless you and your heart for Him!
