Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 11:3 NASB: And He will delight in the fear of the LORD, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make a decision by what His ears hear;
Fear of the LORD is most often defined by loving awe, reverence, deep respect, obedience, and recognition of who God truly is.
Isaiah 11 is foretelling of Jesus and His characteristics. Since the entire purpose of Affirmations of God is for us to take on the characteristics of God, then delighting in fear it is: reverential, obedient fear with shear delight.
Isaiah 11:1-2 tells us of these characteristic gifts. “The Spirit of the LORD will rest upon Him.” The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, counsel and might, knowledge and the fear of the LORD. We should delight in obeying God.
Delighting in this awe, reverence, love and respect will give us an understanding that is beyond what our eyes can see or our ears can hear. A spiritual source of understanding and knowledge that is not available without delighting in the LORD.
Will you delight in the fear of the LORD?
Today’s Prayer: My Heavenly Father and my LORD, I fear You over all others. I delight in fearing You LORD. You are worthy of all fear. Please forgive me for when I fear anything before You. Thank You LORD for Your Son Jesus Christ and Your Spirit that rests upon me. I delight in You LORD, the fear of You and Your Spirit. Help me to listen to and obey. Amen
