Today’s Scripture: Remove far from me vanity and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the bread of my daily need: Proverbs 30:8(Darby Bible Translation)
I know nothing. This statement spoke loudly to me this morning from Matthew Henry’s commentary of Proverbs 30. How little we know. The humbleness and reliance on God is all we need.
He is God and we are not, yet we humans continually try to speak as the authority and try to explain what God means in His Word. We are weak vessels and can in one instance speak for God and in the next moment blaspheme Him in our weaknesses.
Like this unknown character Agur who scripted this chapter, we can grow weary of trying to make sense of it all. It is great news here in verse eight, just be content and trust that God, in His majesty will give us the daily bread we need.
Today, you and I need different things. Our God will provide exactly what we need. May we be content and rest in His provision.
Have you asked God for your daily bread today or for what you want?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your daily bread. Thank you for giving me exactly what I need. Help me to act faithfully and intently on Your will and not my own. Forgive me for my weaknesses and my sins. I am thankful for Your grace and Your strength. You Father know my needs and I welcome Your bread today. Amen.
