When you say “God is with me” what do you think, feel or experience? Does your spirit spring forth with actual physical feelings? Are confidence, assurance, peace and encouragement with you when you know your God is with you?
Today’s affirmation comes from Isaiah 41:10:
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. (NKJ)
Just in this one verse there are some powerful affirmations that we can write on our hearts and yes, if we do we will not be afraid. There will be no fear, no dismay because our God is with us.
My God strengthens me.
My God helps me.
My God holds me up.
My God is with me.
Interestingly in verse 6 I recorded my first affirmation today that I had to go back and DELETE. It says “be of good courage” other versions were “be strong”. It was about how the people were encouraging others to be strong and to be of good courage. I had “I encourage others to be strong”… sounds great and a good thing to do right?
In reading Isaiah 41 I realized that in this chapter those people who were idol worshipers, who had built other gods or things in which they put there faith were those who were encouraging each other. And why were they encouraging each other? That is ALL THEY HAD. How confident do you think they were in their wooden images, in themselves? Encouragement is great but were they just encouraging each other that they didn’t need God? That they could be strong on their own?
When facing life’s challenges and fears what good are our idols? What good are we? I can encourage you to be strong but how strong is that? Be of good courage. How strong, how courageous are you on your own or even with the security of your stuff when the battle begins?
God is telling us. He will strengthen us, He will help us, and He will hold us up. If you ever feel alone in your battles, be reminded of Isaiah 41:13: I am holding you by your right hand–I, the LORD your God. And I say to you `Do not be afraid. I am here to help you. (NKJ)
The God who set the stars in the sky, the all powerful God is holding your hand. The LORD your God is here to help. So I encourage you today to lose the courage you have in yourself and your idols but know God is with you. Look! Help is on the way!‘
God is with us, God will strengthen us. God will hold our hand. How does that make you feel?

These past few months have been very trying for me, but you have placed a song in my heart and mind, “Be Strong in the Lord.” I woke this morning from 3 days of stomach and intestinal virus. It is amazing how much one can think when they are on their back for 3 days. These words are so true, “Our God is our strength.” It is so incredibility crazy when we think we are able to do anything on our own, for when we think we are so infallible just a three day virus can remind us of how weak we are/can be in a matter of hours. Did I tell you….. thanks for making a difference in my life. And Tom….”Be strong in the Lord.”

I do pray that you are feeling better and you recover quickly. Yes, we are weak arent we?! I am deeply moved by your comments. God is with you and He is holding your hand my friend.
Feel? Reaffirmed and confident that I have Someone who loves me and will stick with me.
I know you can not trust those feelings!! Just the Spirit can “feel” so strong at times and I guess I was feeling it when writing this morning… Man, that “someone” is The God of creation, The God of Israel, Our heavenly father, who loves you, stands by you and even holds you high when you can not stand!! Actually, your feeding back my question was awesome Bill. It made me pause and be reminded to be careful of too much stock in “feelings”. I did truly want to know how people “felt” about the scriptures but you made me think. As usual, that is one of your gifts!
God is my ‘soul provider’ – He sustains me. I know I can only rely on Him. Love these verses – so thankful for you bringing them into this day 🙂

I so enjoy it when Scriptures from the Old Testament mention the “right hand of God”.
To me, whenever I think of the “right hand of God”, I immediately think of Jesus, His Son, who is even now seated at His Father’s right hand.
