Today’s Scripture: Haggai 1:7-8 NLT Tyndale: “This is what the LORD Almighty says: Consider how things are going for you! Now go up into the hills, bring down timber, and rebuild my house. Then I will take pleasure in it and be honored, says the LORD.
Will we ever learn? As each life as each generation comes along as a rebellious child we always think we have a new improved and progressive way about us. Remove the dates and the fact that Haggai was written over 2500 years ago and this could be our story.
Hey look around, why are you working to build your luxurious life while the LORD’s house is not in order? Can’t you see that you have planted much and harvested little? Can’t you see that even though you have plenty you are never satisfied? Can’t you see that your wages disappear as though you were putting them in pockets filled with holes?!
Does this all sound familiar to any of you? We need to put God’s house in order first and foremost. When we do this, He has proven over and over that He is with us and will give us what truly satisfies. Look around at the world and your life today. Have we progressed or do we need to drop and go back to step one and step into the LORD? What is your first priority today?
Today’s Prayer: God of Heaven, thank You for being with me. Thank You for Haggai’s timeless message to remind me to make You my number one priority. Reveal to me the ways I can help build Your temple today. Thank You for Your Spirit that will give me the strength and enthusiasm to begin my work for You. Amen

Christian Affirmations 4 Life

Read this today Tom: “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, that we may love You with the whole heart by always thinking of You; with the whole soul by always desiring You; with the whole mind by directing all our intentions to You and seeking Your honor in all things and with all our strength.” Simply reinforces what you are saying. Great thought today.

Thanks for sharing this Bill! Always and in all things. Per your blog this morning I have to affirm this to make sure my arrogance or selfish desires never precede HIM. Bless you.

Wow! As Holy Spirit often seems to do, Affirmations of God confirms something with which He has been dealing with me for a while now. I have entered a new season in my life (oddly one that I had been praying for, for quite some time) and with it there has been, even if it is sublte, a change in my priorities. I thank God for the sting I feel in reading the The Word you proclaim here, your reflections/questions, and prayer. Romans 12:6 came to me…and I looked it up. The Message version was especially poignant. I thank the Lord for His love, faithfulness and mercy, and I thank you for the work you do Tom. I lift you, and all those who proclaim the Word of God boldly and accurately, up in prayer. May the Lord continue to bless you with the gifts you need to accomplish that which the Lord has put in your heart. In the precious name of Jesus, Cindy

I return the WOW! Your gift of encouragement confirms the words He gives me and spurs me on to continue to cherish and seek Him. I appreciate your prayers and also lift you up in this new season. God, thank you for giving Cindy this new season she desired. Please hold her close and show Yourself clearly. I am thankful You provide us with these seasons and pray that we continue to seek You with all of our hearts and that we discern Your purpose for providing the season. In You Father are blessings, glory, thanksgiving, wisdom, power, strength and priorities. Amen
