Today’s Scripture: If you need wisdom- if you want to know what God wants you to do- ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. James 1:5 NLT Tyndale
We have already asked haven’t we? God gladly answered. James makes an action altering statement in verse 6: “But when you ask him, be sure you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. (NLT Tyndale)
What do you expect? Do we expect that the answer is here? Do we reject clear answers because they don’t make sense to us or because we are afraid? We can expect an answer. God has gladly given it.
In my prayer time, I thought of Moses touching that rock instead of just speaking to it as God had commanded. James mentions Abraham hearing to sacrifice Isaac. Not only that Abraham heard but that HE BELIEVED GOD. Abraham expected God to be God. Regardless of how painful or scary it may be. He relied on faith.
Not surprisingly, James says here faith without action is dead. Let us act today. Know that God has answered you and act upon it. What has He told you?
Today’s Prayer: Thank You Father God for answering our prayers and giving us Your wisdom. Embolden me Father to act. Fill me with expectation of Your provision. Remove all doubt from me and fill me with courage and faith. Open my eyes to good deeds I will act on today. Help me to show my faith in my actions and my deeds. I believe You. Amen
