I am forever amazed at God’s word. How can His Word be so fresh and revealing each day? How can these 66 books that make up the bible and almost 800,000 words that were written over 2000 years ago be so real and applicable to my life today? Don’t understand it, Can’t explain it. Just know that it is.
This morning I was directed to Psalm 16:11 by writings of John Baker in the Celebrating Recovery lesson on Spiritual Inventory. As he encouraged us to set priorities in life and evaluate where we find our pleasures he referenced this verse.
I am amazed that this short verse out of this short chapter (only eleven verses) out of the longest book in the bible can provide so very much about our life today.
I was speaking with a friend just last night that is in the middle of the battle of addiction and depression. The destruction that addiction creates reaches every part of our being. It destroys us physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and impacts all of our thoughts and actions.
It takes us to dark places of hopelessness and depression. Then here is this verse this morning where this affirmation came from: You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (TNIV)
The LORD, Yahweh, God; He will show us the path to life. He will fill us with Joy when we are in His presence. True pleasures are found with Him.
Are you down or depressed today? Crawl to God just lay in His presence. Kneel before Him and find His Joy. It is in His presence you will find a joy that is beyond understanding. His pleasures will provide for you for all of eternity. Today is just a blip in the grand scheme. Just get in His presence by asking Him to be there with you. No matter where you are today.
May you find hope and joy in Him. Enter His presence and prepare your heart for joy. It will come. Just seek Him and ask Him to show the way. He is faithful and He will help you and bring the people to help carry you there. Just go to Him the best you can and give Him what you have.
What do we need to do to be in the presence of God today?
I am praying we all find joy in God’s presence today. God you are amazing!

Thank You Robin. Please pray that God reveals a glimpse of His beauty and hope to this person. May He make Himself know. Depression can be sooo dark and hopeless. May God reveal His joy and His pleasures to lift this soul. Thanks for praying for them!
