Today’s Scripture: 1 Peter 2:16 ESV- Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.
I so desire to repeat this affirmation until I live it. I want to live as 1 Peter 2:16 suggests; to live as I am free by living as a servant of God.
This is who I am but not who I live like most times. It is easier to spend time seeking freedom rather than seeking to be God’s servant. As we seek freedom we never seem to find it but as we seek to serve God we find true freedom.
Jesus left us an example and as we follow His steps we find freedom. By His wounds we have been healed and freed. The path to true freedom is given to us in the final verse of this chapter which tells us to return to the Shepherd and Overseer of our souls.
Do you live as you are free?
Today’s Prayer: Mighty and powerful God, I pray to return to You and to live as I am free. Help me LORD to place my faith and hope in You and to live as Your servant. LORD God, I am thankful for the example of Jesus Christ who came to show us the steps to freedom by living as Your servant. I desire and confess that I want to live as Your servant and desire this over all things including my understanding of freedom. Amen
