Today’s Scripture: One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. Psalm 27:4 NIV
The beauty of nature does move my spirit but as I dwelled in the house of the LORD this morning with David here in Psalm 27 I see that the beauty of the LORD is not “skin deep”.
In verse one, “the LORD is my light and my salvation” (ESV). HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THAT? Other beauties in this chapter include:
- The LORD is my confidence
- The LORD lifts me high
- The LORD is my help
- The LORD will take me in
- The LORD teaches me His ways
- The LORD will lead me
Like David in Psalm 27:13 I believe I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD. I do believe I shall. Looking upon God’s goodness and His beauty I find a beauty that cannot be adequately described yet fully received.
Shall we choose to gaze upon the beauty and goodness of God together today?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, Creator God thank You for Your beauty. Thank You for filling the gaze of my eyes and my heart with Your love and Your joy. I am filled with shouts of joy at Your goodness and Your beauty. LORD, I choose to dwell with You all the days of my life, to gaze upon Your beauty and to seek You. LORD use me to open the eyes of those yet to gaze. Amen
