Today’s Affirmation: I devote myself to doing good.
What do you enjoy doing “good” for others?
Titus 3:8 says “…these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.” (NKJV) The NIV says we should “devote” ourselves to doing what is good.
Sorry I had to highlight the word affirm since I am all about affirmations of God’s character. In this affirmation Paul is writing to Titus and he is saying although we are saved by the grace of Jesus we should still be careful to do good works.
We can not earn our salvation, thank God. We should be careful to do good just because it is the right thing to do and helps our fellow man.
We are called to do our best to produce good! In Titus 3:14 it is important to note Paul’s emphasis on doing and producing.
“Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives.” (NIV)
We are called to be productive, fruitful so that we serve a useful purpose for ALL others.
- What do you produce or do that is good for others?
- What good works do you feel you have the skills to do?
- What good do you desire to do?
- Does your interaction with others reflect the love of God?
God, thank you for saving us through Your Son Jesus. Thank you for our rebirth and for pouring out Your Holy Spirit upon us. Thank you for your grace. Give us a heart of service and doing good for others so we may reflect Your heart. I will affirm to do good!
What do you enjoy doing for others?

Christian Affirmations 4 Life

As you know tom I am preaching on goodness from 2 Peter 1 this week. I believe real goodness is a fruit of the Spirit but without a doubt that it will become evident in how we live our lives.
I agree. Early in Titus Pauls speaks of us being bathed in the Holy Spirit. Soundly washed and we renewed the good should become evident. We desire what He loves…
Praying now you touch your flock where they need to be touched tomorrow.
Tom,
Your affirmations are helping many others though I know you receive pleasure and are AFFIRMED in your faith by writting and sharing these with the rest 0f us.
Thanks so much for being the DIGGER AND SPIRITUAL LEADER IN OUR FAMILY.
Love you much,
Your adoring wife.
Thanks babe for your support! Love ya!
I so love this one Tom. In a world that lends itself to putting “myself” first, that is not the message of the gospel.
Doing good becomes first a discipline and then an overflow of a heart full of gratitude for all God’s done for me…
Also, the every day contact with people is a biggy. When my mind is a million miles away on some problem or another, I’m missing a chance to show the love of God to someone.
Absolutely beautiful reminder…
