Today’s Scripture: Hebrews 10:23, NLT –“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”
We often make life more complicated than it needs to be. Hebrews 10:10 promises us that when the body of Jesus was sacrificed, we were made holy. Hebrews 10:14 followed with “For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.”(NLT) Hebrews 10:16 reiterates that “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” (NLT)
That day has already taken place. God replaced the sacrifices, offerings, and the turmoil of human understanding that does not change hearts with the one sacrifice of Jesus that changes us forever. Our efforts do not save us, but we can trust that God has given us salvation through Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 10:22 instructs us “let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.” (NLT)
The New Living Translation of Hebrews 10:23 reminds me of why I will continue to affirm the hope and trust that I have in God. God, I am trusting You.
Do you trust God?
Today’s Prayer: LORD, thank You for loving me. Thank You for offering Jesus for me. I trust that You have made me holy. Use me to spur others on to affirm their faith and to hold tightly to You. Thank You for writing Your laws in our hearts and on our minds. I am affirming constantly that my hope is in trusting You and the sacrifice of Jesus. In the name of Jesus, I am praying. Amen.
