Today’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:13, NLT- “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”
What I LOVE about the scriptures is how God reveals what we need. “And God is faithful” in 1 Corinthians 10:13 jumps off the page into eyes, heart, and soul. I knew this was God’s daily bread for me. I have started and stopped writing multiple times today due to phone calls and other duties.
It was after multiple efforts before I was shocked to recognize this scripture. Christians and non-Christians alike quote this scripture often as we deal with our overwhelming temptations. We all find comfort in the fact that God will not give us more than we can handle without giving us a way out. Yet, all I can see when looking at the letters on the page is that GOD IS FAITHFUL.
Just this morning in my knee-time I was struggling to simply handle my daily prayers. It was one of those days when I was empty. Void of words, emotions, and desires. I, once again, was reminded that these special moments were not for what I can bring to God but what He is bringing to me.
I did my best to wipe my mind clear and in my mind’s eye I looked towards heaven and caught a glimpse of the light of God, and I felt my heart open for God. I heard Tilly, our “pet” rooster who roams our property who had returned from making sure the kids were at the bus stop, seriously! I was reminded to thank God for His nature, and I prayed that my prayers were being lifted to Him as loud as Tilly’s crows.
We all experience ups and downs with emotions and faith. Our attitudes can change before we even realize it. I am thankful that no matter where we find ourselves, we can silence ourselves to receive God. It is incredible how God’s Word speaks to us exactly where we are and He shares His will of what we need.
Today, I needed to know that regardless of where I am, He is faithful. The super-Spiritual synchronicities between our prayers and God’s Word are specific. Thank You LORD for being specific with us.
Paul began writing 1 Corinthians with this statement “This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and from our brother Sosthenes.” (NLT) We too, being no different than Paul, receive His will chosen for us. Moods, interests, and needs do change yet we can rest in the faithfulness and will of God.
My challenge to anyone who is struggling to connect spiritually with God is to hit your knees, close your eyes, and welcome God to share His will with you. Do your best to “listen.” I have found that our minds will wander or have random thoughts. Who knows, you may hear a rooster or something else that sends you down the path God intends for you. At the end of your prayer immediately open God’s Word.
It has come to be my belief that it does not matter where you turn to in God’s Word, you will find what God’s will is for you. It may jump off the page at you or stir your heart. Regardless of what we find we can always thank God for being faithful.

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us and for being faithful. Help us LORD to pray and receive Your will as Jesus did. Change us LORD with Your Word. Thank You for Your light that shines down upon us. Thank You for the promises in Your Word that teach and equip us with Your will. In the name of Jesus, we do pray. Amen.
