Today’s Scripture: Lamentations 3:22-23, KJV- “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Every morning God is faithful to us. Is it too much for us to be thankful every morning? We can find evidence of God’s great love for us every morning if we are searching.
We have hope deep within our souls when we know that what we do have is from God. Some days it is easier to be thankful than others. The immediate demands of our lives can redirect our thoughts. However, as soon as we can, we must turn to seek God’s goodness. As Lamentations 3:25 states, “The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him.” (NKJV)
Lamentations 3:26 and 28 provide the quickest way to get back on track, sit alone and keep silent. Shut down the noise and anxieties of our minds and pause quietly and allow our souls to seek God. I have found that the position given to us in Lamentations 3:29 is the most intimate way to receive the LORD. “Let him put his mouth in the dust— There may yet be hope.” (NKJV) Lamentations 3:41 also states “Let us lift our hearts and hands To God in heaven.” (NKJV)
We can always call on God regardless of where we are. Lamentations 3:55 tells us “I called on Your name, O LORD, From the lowest pit.” (NKJV) The people of Lamentations really were in the depths of despair. Lamentations 5:15 said that “Joy is gone from our hearts; our dancing has turned to mourning.” (NIV) They felt forgotten by God.
When we feel forgotten or think we are being persecuted, we can recall Psalm 30:5 “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” (NLT)
Every morning we can find joy by thanking the LORD for His love, mercies, and compassion towards us and remembering His faithfulness.
Today’s Prayer: Thank you, heavenly Father, for Your love, mercy, and compassion that is renewed every morning. Thank You LORD for blessing us. We pause now to praise You. I am sitting alone and lifting up my heart and hands to You now with a grateful heart for Your great love for me. Amen.
