Share the post "I am trusting that the Spirit of the LORD is moving me to where he LORD desires me to be."
Today’s Scripture: Ezekiel 37:1, KJV- “The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,”
We can still trust the Spirit of the LORD to carry us to where the LORD wants us to be. In our impatience we sometimes go where God has no intentions for us to go. Of course, the age-old desire is for God to be as clear with us as He has been with people like Noah in the bible.
We are told in Genesis 6:14, “And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.” (NKJV) God, please speak to me as directly as You did to Noah.
On January 9, 2008, I know God said to me “Tom, every affirmation you will ever need is found in My Word. Pulling out my notes from that morning, I now see that Isaiah 51:3 was where the LORD had me. “For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.”
My first attempt at a Bible affirmation was “For the LORD will comfort Zion.” Today, I would capture this scripture as “The LORD comforts me” and “Thank You LORD for comforting me.” I have found that this is how God speaks to me. This is a real and personal conversation with God.
Re-reading Isaiah 51:3 this morning I am just now recognizing how promising and perfect this first verse was for me although I was not aware at the time. It states, “He will comfort all her waste places.” God did bring me comfort in my waste places. After all, it was after decades of wasting my life in the throes of alcohol abuse that finally broke me to the point of dropping to my knees needing to know God.
I can affirm now “Thank You LORD for comforting my wasted places.” God has made my wilderness like Eden. I am now walking in the garden of the LORD. I have found joy and gladness in the LORD.
Just last night a friend asked me to tell them about my book, “Every Affirmation you will ever need.” I struggled to put this in a succinct text. It is right here in this very first verse God took me to in those early morning hours so many years ago. I am simply sharing the joy and gladness I have found in this unique way of receiving God’s Word. My greatest desire now is to share this process that God has given me so that anyone desiring to read God’s Word in a powerful and personal way and improve their conscious contact with God will be blessed as I have been.
I do write out of thanksgiving and this is my melody. I have become convinced that God speaks to anyone who goes to His Word. I write only to share my experiences so others too may find the joy and gladness that I have found. This is where the Spirit of the LORD has moved me to.
Where is the Spirit of the LORD moving you?
Today’s Prayer: Thank You LORD for speaking to us in Your commands. Thank You LORD for Your Holy Spirit that moves us to where You desire. Thank You LORD for taking us from our seemingly wasted places to only find ourselves in Your comforting arms. I am thankful You welcome us to walk and talk with You. Thank You for the joy and gladness You have given to me so I may share You and Your Word with others as You desire. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, I do pray. Amen.
