Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 6:10, NIV- “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”
We do not need to feel strong to be strong. At times we may seem to have no power. Thankfully, our strength and power are not our own. Life can be exhausting. It is impossible to please everyone. Fortunately when we act on the will of God from our hearts, we can feel the relaxation of our muscles and cares.
When we let things go and turn back to the will of God, we also feel His strength and power. When we live as slaves of Christ and do the will of God, as suggested in Ephesians 6:6, we are directed to serve others. Ephesians 6:7 encourages us to “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.”
When we are serving others, we find renewed strength and power. God Himself can equip us as Paul instructs in Ephesians 6:11, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
We are constantly bombarded with the devil’s schemes. As Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
Sometimes we may feel too weak to even dress ourselves in God’s armor. Fortunately God will dress us up with His belt of truth, His breastplate of righteousness, His shoes of the gospel of peace, He will hand us the shield of faith, place upon our heads the helmet of salvation, and provide the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6: 14-17)
We can pray to the Lord and ask Him for His strength and power. Lord, all Your people need to be armored up against certain evil. You Lord are our strength and power. Help us to make known the mystery of the gospel.
Will you ask the Lord to provide you with His strength and power today?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty Heavenly Father, we gather to praise You and thank You for the strength and power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Help us to stand firm LORD as You place our armor upon us. We are weak in the flesh but in Your Spirit, we are strong and powerful. Work in us to serve and pray for all others so we stand firm against the evil schemes that surround us. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we are praying. Amen.
