Today’s Scripture: 1 Peter 5:7, NIV- “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
Anxieties can come upon us in a flash, can’t they? We can cast them away just as quickly. Like the old game hot potato, we do not have to accept and carry these anxieties and cares of this world. Instead of worrying about what may or may not happen, we can trust God.
Peter encourages us to humble ourselves before God with a willingness and eagerness to serve Him and His sheep. We can trust the mighty hand of God. We can trust God over the fears of our anxieties. Instead of worrying about what may happen we can focus on our commitment to serve regardless of what happens.
We do not have as much control over things as we might think. We can let go and trust God to pick us up and carry us to where He desires us to be. In the moment we cannot see it but, in the moment, we can trust God. As 1 Peter 5:6 states, His mighty hand will lift us up in due time. We must humbly trust His time. We must resist and bounce away from trusting our timing over His. Have our anxieties direct us back to God and cast them upon Him.
1 Peter 5:8, instructs us to be sober and alert as the devil is out to devour us. The devil can use our anxieties, our hurts, habits, and hang-ups to shake our faith and keep us bound. We can resist the devil by casting all our cares upon God. We can resist by standing firm in our faith that God has us.
We can expect anxieties and suffering. In fact, in 1 Peter 5:10, Peter does not say “IF” we will suffer but that only “AFTER” we have suffered that after just a little. We become anxious over the suffering but the God of all grace, is perfecting, establishing, strengthening, and settling us. For the moment we may be anxious but let us bounce our anxieties to trusting that God is settling us to where He wants us.
God’s plan is eternal, and His power is for ever and ever. 1 Peter 5:11 states “To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” (KJB). Amen. We can stand fast in the grace and plans of God. We can cast our anxieties to God in trusting He is taking us to where we are supposed to be. Trusting God is where we find peace. Will you trust God with Your anxieties today? Cast them to Him now.
Today’s Prayer: Almighty God, thank you for caring for me. I am casting all my anxieties under Your strong hand now. I am willing and eager to serve You LORD and Your flock. Show me now your ways O God. I am standing firm in Your grace, and I am resisting the devil by casting all my anxieties and worries upon You. You Father God are the power forever and ever. Forever will I trust You. Amen.
