God, thank You for being with me.

Today’s Scripture: Matthew 1:23, NKJV- “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.””

Have you ever asked God to be with you? I was pointed to the prayer of Jabez last week. In 1 Chronicles 4:10 we may recall that, “Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.” (NIV) Have you cried out to God and asked that His hand be upon you?

God granted Jabez his request and He grants us ours. God wants to be with us. He sent Jesus to be God with us. Are we with God? 1 Chronicles 11:9 tells us “And David became more and more powerful, because the LORD Almighty was with him.” (NIV)

We also become more powerful because the LORD Almighty is with us. In 1 Chronicles 17:2 we are told “Then Nathan said to David, “Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you.” (NKJV) Do you have things in your heart that you would do if you knew God’s power and presence are with you? They are.

God was with David and He also made it clear that although it was on David’s heart to build the temple, it was God’s plan to have Solomon fulfill His plan. David accepted God’s directions as he did His presence. We must mature in our faith and accept God’s plans and trust He will guide and guard our hearts. We can live by the directions David gave to his sone Solomon.

1 Chronicles 28:9, “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.” (NIV)

Let us seek God and thank Him for finding us and being with us.

Today’s Prayer: Lord God Almighty, thank You for being with me. You are my God, and I am praying to serve You with my whole heart and to do the things You have placed on my mind and in my heart. I am trusting You Father God to guide me to complete Your will. You LORD and Your hand are my strength and courage. Help me to live with You forever. Amen.
