Today’s Scripture: That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10 NLT
If I must boast I would rather boast about the things that show how weak I am. Although these were Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 12:30 they too are mine.
Although I did not suffer these things for Christ, Christ has used His power to turn my weaknesses to strengths. I have shared how thankful I am that my alcoholism, this weakness, is what brought me to a place where I was taken to my knees. It was there that I came face to face with my weaknesses. In my life I have found that when I am weak He is strong.
My confession has opened up many relationships and opportunities to be honest and real. I have realized many “benefits” from my addictions. I am speaking to you today because of this weakness. Like Paul stated in 2 Corinthians 11:10, I will never stop boasting of the truth of Christ that is in me.
How did I get to the point where I was prepared to receive this truth? I was completely in poverty and weak and the grace of God shined His light on me. What were my darkest times are now my brightest. Living in Christ gives God’s power. God will continue to humble me and in my weaknesses I will be strengthened in Him. Can you see how God’s power has shown up in your weaknesses?
Today’s Prayer: Mighty God, You are all powerful and I thank You for giving me Your power through Jesus Christ. I thank you for my weaknesses that I am aware of and for those that will continue to humble me before You. In my weaknesses and in my poverty please show Yourself to be real and all the strength I need. Please use my weaknesses to make others strong. Amen

Wonderful and powerful truth … when we are weak we are strong in Him. In facing our weaknesses head on we can no longer trust in ourselves … it pushes us to trust in God. And the interesting thing is we are never really strong – we are deceived to thinking we are, we are nothing without God regardless if we recongize it or not. So when we admit the truth – then we are open to accept God in a way we don’t when we “feel” strong.
Interesting to .. when you are truly trusting God – you feel His strength – so in a sense you’ve never been stronger – but it isn’t you, it’s Him.

totally agree, we are always weak and He is always strong. We are poor yet always rich in him.
