Today’s Scripture: That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today you must listen to his voice.” Hebrews 3:7 NLT Tyndale
Today, God will speak, will we hear His voice? Hebrews begins by saying long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. But now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son.
Jesus, the Son, promised His Holy Spirit who carries the voice of God in supernatural ways. Can you hear it? Will we be still long enough to listen? We must. Jesus has authority over all things and He speaks through all things.
In His own words Jesus said “I will put my trust in Him. Here I am- together with the children God has given me.”
We are with Him, we belong to Him and He will speak. Three times here in Hebrews 3 and 4 the Word of God says “Today you must listen to his voice.”
In 3:13 “You must warn each other every day, as long as it is called “today”, that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.” NLT
Today, we must listen. Can you share how you have heard God that may help others hear?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for speaking to us. Help us to listen and help us to hear. You are in all things and You speak in all things. Help each of us to warn and encourage each other to listen and keep our hearts open to You. Today, I give You my heart and I listen. I trust You will allow me to hear. Amen

Christian Affirmations 4 Life
Good Morning Tom! Just two days ago, the Lord brought me to Isaiah 30:21 (And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way; walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.) Recently, I’ve been listening to a series on hearing from God and I thought I’d pass along something the speaker said that hit me: our soul, with its mind, will, and emotions, will always try to exalt itself by giving its two cents after hearing from God: what about what I think, or what I want, or what I feel? It hit me because this is my struggle…I hear, but do I obey? Oh thank You Father God for Your faithfulness, patience and mercy; for Your Holy Spirit, for Your Word, and for my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who encourage and warn me while it is still today. Have a blessed day brother, Cindy
Cindy, thank you for sharing these thoughts! Great points, all. As we listen, as we hear, may we be faithful. Praying we will be bold and courageous to act on what we hear and be full of faith in the power of our living God. Thankful to be traveling this road with you so we can all encourage and warn each other through what He speaks into our lives. Today. Bless you my sister,
Tom
He speaks. I listen. Good reminder, Tom!
Thanks Dustin!
Thanks Tom. Recently I had a situation I really needed His wisdom on. I began asking for the answer and spent much time just being quiet listening for the inner still small voice of the Holy Spirit. I read large chunks of the Word looking for some answer…Nothing. I followed this pattern for a week…nothing! Then yesterday I awoke in the morning and I had the answer. As I stretched the sleep out of my body God just breathed it into me and I knew how to proceed. He will answer just wait!
Jelillie, thank you for this awesome testimony. Patience can be tough but examples of His perfect timing and His faithfulness in stories like us gives us hope and faith to wait on Him.
Tom
It is always good to go to the Word when we need an answer. I have found that I ‘hear’ from God reading the Bible and during my praise and worship. The Holy Spirit reveals what we need to hear when we listen. Great thoughts Tom!
But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. I Corinthians 2:10-12 (NLT)
The Spirit is the secret isn’t it Kimberly?! His Spirit speaks through His word and His people. I continue to be amazed and kneel in awe of how He speaks. Thank you for sharing this scripture. The glimpses we have already gotten of His wonderful things are so encouraging and empowering that joy abounds in our hearts. I truly appreciate you revealing what He has revealed to you! Bless you!
