Today’s Scripture: I came to you in weakness– timid and trembling. And my message and my preaching were very plain. I did not use wise and persuasive speeches, but the Holy Spirit was powerful among you.1 Corinthians 2:3-4
Do you want to do things “right”? Do you want to be holy? Great news, you can NOT do it! How is that great news? God created you and He knows you can not do good and you can not be holy. All pressure is off.
The greater news is that we were created to have a helper that will do those things IN SPITE of us. Don’t sweat the fact you failed, again, to live up to the demands of the law. Don’t sweat that you don’t know what to say or even how to pray. The Holy Spirit lives in you if you believe. If you ask the Father to save you and believe that Jesus died for you then the promise of the Holy Spirit is alive and well and dwelling in YOU.
Here is Paul the writer of 13 books of the New Testament- admitting he was timid and trembling. Why? To prove that this all surpassing power was from God and not himself. Being powerless is in fact all powerful. When we recognize and admit we are powerless the Holy Spirit does the supernatural.
How have you experienced and/or witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit?
Today’s Prayer: Father God thank You for Your Spirit. Thank You for choosing me. Thank You for the grace and peace given to me through Jesus Christ. Thank You for giving me every spiritual gift I will ever need. In Jesus and Your Spirit I find strength. Jesus alone has made me acceptable and I will boast only about You and what You have done through my weaknesses. Plant Your seeds through me today and may I work for Your purpose. Amen

A couple of friends recently asked for a counselor and my initial response was, “You have the greatest counselor, the Holy Spirit!” What a comforter Jesus Christ sent through God! Oh, that we would listen to the Holy Spirit and find solace in his comfort and counsel. Great post!

I grew up in church and believing in the Word, but it is not until now that I realize that I have lacked an understanding of the Word. I never realized how important my imperfections and weaknesses are until now. How encouraging is it to know that I am not suppose to be perfect and holy but I am still loved and redeemed!
Thank you for your posts! They are my little feats each day as I am working on becoming a better servant. I look forward to reading them each morning!

Stephanie, thank you for following this little place and you have made my day. Encouragement such as yours is confirmation of God’s will to me. As we confess and give our imperfections and weaknesses to God He turns them into miracles. It is so true that when we are weak He is strong and our telling of our weaknesses and how we found a God who loves us helps others to live life to the full instead of in guilt and shame….please don’t be a stranger with your comments.
