Today’s Scripture: If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. James 2:8 ESV
Today LORD, really? Feeling a bit depressed as I awoke following a national election that my team lost can quickly turn me to bitterness towards others. As I send my son off to school I remind us both that God is in control and we must turn to Him.
I come to where I have been travelling His Word and the verses today hit hard. I am to love my neighbor as myself. I am to show the love of Jesus Christ to the other team. James 2 urges us not to show favoritism and partiality. Our ego and our flesh cry otherwise. I must hold onto my faith in my Lord Jesus Christ to be able to do this.
We all need saving. We all have our sins and may we approach others with humbleness and love because our sins have convicted us too.
Can you show your faith in your treatment of others today?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty Father of our Lord Jesus Christ I humbly approach Your throne. Your glory is in all things. I confess my sins to You and seek Your love for all people. Help me to show Your love and Your faith in being the equal of all others. Help me to show my faith in my works. Amen

Thank you my dear friend! Isn’t it “funny” how God has us where we need to be> I did not search out a scripture to be perfect, He provided the perfect word right where He has me today. He is so faithful and His love for us is so freeing that we can love all others in the humbleness of His majesty! Thank you for your prayers! Blessings and prayers to you my friend.

Good word Tom; I can SO relate. When the news came in of our team’s loss, I texted almost the exact same thing to a sad relative, “The LORD is in control; we were obedient.” And I will continue to be obedient and follow the LORD’s Word (1 Timothy 2: 1-5). Have prayed and will continue to pray for you while I’m at work Tom. Because I KNOW how much the LORD has already used you, today will be NO different. God bless you and yours. Cindy Joshua 1:9!!!

A good word Tom. We are to responmd in love at all times. It is the power of Christianity. It is our hope and stay in the world no matter what happens. The election is not a disappointment to me. It is only a confirmation of how God is about to work in our nation and what we as men and women of God are going to have to be and do in the days ahead. In a state where we just voted in physician assisted suicide and legalized marijuana I understand more now than ever what it will take to be “in the world and not of it.” Let us determine to be the light and salt in a world becoming dark and sour and let us walk confident and sure of Jesus’ soon return!

Thank you jelillie, great perspective. We are to follow and fear God alone. I have been mindful all day of the Israelites who called for a king. What we need is not a king but to trust in the LORD. Thanks brother!

Tom, I have not posted for some time now; but felt that I needed to. I was sad last night when our team lost; this is the first election that I have experienced being born again. I knew I had to immediately trust in the Lord and soon after that I received a text from my sister affirming to me; “The Lord is in control.” I will continue to pray for our authorities and love those that are on the other team. Thank you for the good reminder. I thank God for your posts that I read daily and that you continue to spread His Word. God Bless, Mary

The Holy Spirit will guard our hearts and minds so that we can love as Jesus does.
