Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 57:13 NLT: Let’s see if your idols can save you when you cry to them for help. Why, a puff of wind can knock them down! If you just breathe on them, they fall over! But whoever trusts in me will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain.”
Seriously where do we put our trusts? When we kneel before the LORD do we take our mundane and current thoughts to Him?
So many times we struggle to focus during our times when we are attempting to pray. Our minds race and we think of all kinds of things. Are we being selfish or is the LORD of all saying, hey give me those things too?! We can walk away some times felling guilty that we didn’t give God our best during His “time”.
Really? Can’t we trust the LORD with all of our stuff or are we holding onto to some things idols we trust in more, like ourselves, our experience and our knowledge. Can we trust that some of those things idols that pop in our mind are really things God wants to be involved in too?
Just a thought, as my mind raced this morning and I felt refuge and peace in just trusting the LORD for those things too.
Do you have anything you haven’t put into the trust of the LORD?
Today’s Prayer: LORD, Help me to put all my trusts in You. I want You Father God to be involved in all of my things, all of my decisions and put my trust that the thoughts I have are Your thoughts. Consume me LORD and blow away all idols I place before You. I know You will answer my call and embrace my trust. Amen

Thanks Tom! Sometimes I worry about not begin able to focus as I feel I “should” while in prayer. From now on I will trust all those “distractions” to the Lord and know He will accept me as I am.
I guess I needed to hear it from someone else to let this idea set in me…thanks!
Blessings!
Thanks Katy, yes, not all distractions are distractions and I just ask Him and His Spirit to discern and bring to light what He wishes. Anything that gets in the way, we can just give to Him. What a wonderful God who made us this way and accepts us just as we are!! Blessings!
I want to trust him with my uncertainties today. Thanks for the reminder, Tom.
Thanks Dustin, I enjoyed the simplicity of your post today. May we trust Him with our seemingly simple things are and have the faith of the little boy and his carrot seed! Weed and water, weed and water….see what grows!
