Today’s Scripture: Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. I Corinthians 4:2 NIV
God really, today? You do have perfect timing and even seem to have a sense of humor. Ok, this Tyndale House Chronological NLT translation I have been in lately seems to take some liberties but today it was perfect.
What about me? Have I been faithful? Well it matters very little what you or anyone else thinks. I don’t even trust my own judgment on this point. 1 Corinthians 4:3 NLT Seriously? Just yesterday I was crying out to the Spirit that I needed Him to speak for me because I had nothing nice to say. This was one of those days where life’s circumstances made me angry. I confessed I was powerless over these feelings and I needed Him. He did give me calm and He did show up.
However, confronted once again I struggled to maintain the Spirit over my tongue. What about me? I wasn’t very faithful but felt justified. Verse four states: My conscience is clear, but that isn’t what matters. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide. Have you ever experienced this? Have you had God’s word show up in real time and challenge you in your current battle?
Thank you God for verse 20: For the Kingdom of God is not just fancy talk: it is living my God’s power. Help me to live Your power.
Today’s Prayer: Lord, I need Your power to be faithful. There are times when I prove I can’t be trusted. Thank You for Your Word and Your perfect timing. I am so weak but You are so powerful. Help me to bless those who curse me and be patient with those who abuse me. Help me to respond gently when evil things are said about me. Fill me, control my tongue and help me live in Your power today. Amen

Tom, thanks for sharing, and for your honesty. I want that to be a daily prayer of mine.
Thanks Dustin, when the rubber meets the road I it shows how powerless I really am.
What about me? Have I been faithful?
Great questions!
