Today’s Scripture: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! Psalm 100:4 ESV
An affirmation for giving thanks just as Psalm 100 is a psalm for giving thanks. Yesterday a friend said isn’t today your day? My mind checked all the empty counters of my mind looking for the lost clues to what she could be referring; nothing. Yes, isn’t this your day? She repeated.
It hit me, I had recently shared my recovery story with a co-worker and she remembered today is my birthday; my sobriety birthday. How sweet that she remembered and I hadn’t. Six years of entering His gates instead of the gates of hell.
Yes LORD, I am thankful and I praise Your name! LORD, I serve You with gladness. Both in service and in gladness do I serve You. Thank You for making me. Thank You for loving me. Thank You for allowing me to know You.
I give thanks to You LORD!
Will you join me in giving thanks to God today?
Today’s Prayer: Dear LORD, my God, I enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise LORD I serve You with gladness and come into Your presence with joy. Thank You for making me and for loving me. I am thankful for Your presence that has given me sobriety and for giving me You. Amen

Happy Birthday I too, celebrate your victory. I do not remember when I met you, but it has been some time ago, and your affirmations have been a constant blessing to me. Your affirmations of God’s Truth always seem to say the words that comfort and encourage me in my walk. Our life with Christ should not be a struggle, it is a truth encounter. Each day we make decisions about how to live the Christian life. We have a choice whether to struggle with living the Christian life based on what we think or feel, or by the world’s ways, we can be set free and live by the truth of God’s Word. Thank you for your faithfulness in sharing God’s truths from His Word.
But most of all Tom, I celebrate who you are, (a faithful child of God) that is doing the things you do ( sober mind, writing truth of God, brother to all who wish to join you in this faith journey) because you love your Father in Heaven. Many work hard to overcome addictions. For me it was not drinking, but was i-ddiction. The truth all addictions will rob us of the life God created us to experience, a life focused on him. Even after we have done so well, Satan, will tempt us at our weakest moments. I do not read your post without thanking God for what he is doing in your life and without praying that God will completely remove any desire to turn back, and to turn all thirst into a thirst for him.
You truly embody the character of God and I do love you and thank God for you. And until we meet, (I will be looking for you on the other side) may may God continue to bless you and your family as you continue to read, study and share the God’s truths.
Patsy, you bless my soul with your encouragement. You were one of my very first subscribers so it has to be three years that I have been blessed by your confirmation and encouragement. Please realize how much the gift of your presence has spurred me on to remain faithful to this calling. I know we will meet in the glow of God’s light and will see together the loving eyes of Jesus.
