Today’s Scripture: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 GWT
We love the hope and confidence of Phil. 4:13 don’t we? However do we sometimes turn away from Christ when we need Him the most? If we believe we can do all things through Christ do we need to turn to our own strength and resolve?
I have witnessed an unhealthy pattern in myself at times where I try to overcome challenges on my own strength and then I turn to Christ only to turn back to myself. What happens when I turn back to myself? Let’s say it is less than honorable.
All the honorable and worthy things we are called to focus on in Philippians 4:8 can be turned away by turning away from Christ. When we are faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges I pray we stay with Jesus. We can do all things through Him! We just need to stay there and we will rejoice always.
Will you stay with Christ when you need Him most?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for the Gift of Jesus Christ. Thank You for His life and death that give me strength. Forgive me for when I turn to my flesh for strength and fail. Help me to stay true to You. With thanksgiving and rejoicing in my heart I am asking You to keep me forever mindful that You take care of all of my needs. Amen

Bro. Henry,
Please read the devotional below, I thought of your friend Stacy, per our conversation last night-may want to pass on to him. Sounds to me if he ever needed the LORD he needs Him now.
Peace unto you!

It is also allowing Christ to work through us. It his by allowing the Holy Spirit who never leaves us, never abandons us, to show us the correct way. Trusting his leading is far superior to our ways.
Galatians 2:20 “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
and John 14:16-17a “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.”
Thanks Tom, we all need this reminder to Trust him.
Thank you Kimberly! I have always claimed Galatians 2:20 as my “life verse”. The Holy Spirit within me always reveals that I must let myself be crucified with Christ. The life I live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. LOVE it. Thank you Kimberly and blessings to you!
Amen with out His strength I can’t even wake up for He gives me breath and strength to do one task at a time during the course of my day…
Amen Desiray…living on His power. Thank You LORD for the breath and strength You give to Desiray and to all of us! Blessings!
I felt this one, Tom . ..about the turning to my own strength times. There is something I have to do each week, and I can’t get more than 4 hours of sleep before doing it. And every time Jesus sees me through. I know this! Yet still, sometimes, I start to stress and try to find a way to do it all different. God bless you as you trust Him for all those things and more!
Amen Debbie. It amazes me how our fleshly nature can redirect us in a heartbeat! Like you, I have to be constantly reminded to STOP trying to do things in my power and to Know it is all about Christ and not me! Blessings to you! I know you don’t sleep much because of the times you are kind enough to reply to my blogs! I am praying for you now and praising God in thanksgiving for you!
