Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 13:9 NASB: For we rejoice when we ourselves are weak but you are strong; this we also pray for, that you be made complete.
In 2 Corinthians 13:9 Paul actually rejoices in his own weakness in hopes the people of Corinth would become stronger; that they may be “made” complete.
What does it take for us to be “made” complete? Paul says it is Jesus Christ in us. Instead of beating ourselves up over our own weaknesses may we see that this is where we find God and His strength in Jesus Christ.
“For when I am weak, then I am strong.” Paul had just written in 2 Corinthians 12:10. God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness.
Paul signs off in this second letter by saying: “rejoice, be made complete” be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
Will you rejoice in your weaknesses and ask God to complete you?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for Your strength that completes me. I rejoice that my weaknesses reveal Your love and the grace of Jesus Christ. Only in Your Holy Spirit am I made complete. Draw me close LORD and make me complete. Amen
