Today’s Scripture: But he said, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.” Luke 18:27 ESV
What is your “it”? What is it that you want? Do you have any problems asking God for what you want? Honestly, I have struggled with this one.
I have no problems asking God to intervene or heal a friend or to forgive me and heal me. I love praising God but asking Him for what I WANT has been an issue for me. One question has haunted me for several years. In Luke 18:41 when Jesus turned to the blind man crying out for mercy to Him and said: “What do you want me to do for you?”
So what is your “it” you want Jesus to do for you? Back to the blind man for a second, close your eyes and imagine that story. You are blind, begging beside the road and you are told Jesus is near. Like the blind man you cry out “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” How passionately would you yell those words?
Earlier in Luke 18:7 the Lord tells us to call out to God day and night. Do you feel guilty for asking God for what you want? Do you know what you want? Jesus gave the blind man his sight immediately and he followed Him. Will our “it” cause us to Follow Jesus?
Today’s Prayer: Lord, I praise You and glorify Your name. Please make my wants, my desires Your desires. Make me want it bad enough to cry out to You day and night. Thank You for encouraging me to continue to ask like the widow to the judge. I will keep coming God. Keep me forever mindful I will leave whatever I have to follow You. I have the faith of a little child that You God will provide. I want You above all. Amen

So often our “it” is a personal request, benefiting us… but our “it” should also be something that brings God glory!

Amen! The blind man followed Jesus and glorified God. If our “it” doesn’t glorify God is it really “it”? Great point Dustin!
