Today’s Scripture: Ezra 7:15 NLT Tyndale: We also commission you to take with you some silver and gold which we are freely presenting as an offering to the God of Israel who lives in Jerusalem.
In context, out of context, in God, out of God; God lives here. Ok, I must admit that I must discipline myself to study this portion of the Old Testament to get my kings and their declarations straight but I know God is here.
Can God also be in our lack of understanding? I think so. It struck me that this translation of the Holy Scripture says King Artaxerxes of Persia wrote a decree and gave Ezra silver and gold to give to God of Israel “who lives in Jerusalem.”
Do we really understand where God lives? Does He only live in what is good and perfect and all shiny in the temple? I think not, He even showed Himself through this King who didn’t even know that He was right there, right then and using Him to offer this decree that would play out over thousands of years to be right where God is then. Yes, He is here now. I have seen it personally today (it would take more than 200 words to share that), have you?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I know You are here. Thank You for Your presence and Your unfailing love for us. I know You can use anyone to complete Your will. Dear God please grant me the wisdom and determination to study and obey Your law so I may teach this to others. I must teach them. I praise You LORD for placing Your gracious hand on me. I pray that you will take care of me and bring to me those You intend to complete Your Will. Thank You for being here. Amen.
