Today’s Scripture: Psalm 146:1, KJV- “Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.”
Reading this first verse of Psalm 146 I completely felt what David was writing about. My heart swelled within me and my soul praised the LORD. I did not even feel the need to read any further today. I thought that nothing David or anyone else could say could stop my soul from praising the LORD.
However, I did read on and found myself saying yes, that too LORD, to Psalm 146:2 “I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” (NIV) As long as I live LORD, with all of me.
King David knew the power structure of man and knew that God alone is worthy of our praise and trust. In Psalm 146:3 David said, “Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.” (NIV)
David continued to recount just who God is and why we praise Him. God alone is our help, hope, maker, and faithful provider who feeds us and sets us free, who gives sight to the blind, lifts those who are bowed down and in love with Him.
When we praise our Creator, from whom all blessings flow, we praise from a place that takes all our breath and all our soul. Yes, David, I agree, I am praising the LORD with all my soul forever.
Does your soul praise the LORD?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, I praise You with all my soul. Your Word reminds us of who You are. You created all things; You created me for Your glory. You love me, You protect me, You show me Your ways. LORD, I am praising You with all that I am and with all that I have forever. Thank You LORD for filling our souls with praise. I love You. Amen.
