Today’s Scripture: Acts 11:23, KJB – “Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.”
When we are focused on the grace of God and continually praise Him, we do find purpose. I have personally experienced, many times, when I am praising God for who He is and His purpose we begin to see our own purpose.
I spent years wondering what my purpose would be and just floating along life’s currents without a rudder. I thought one day I would find out what my purpose would be. I was confident the Lord would reveal it to me.
I had the waiting part down but now see I really did not seek Him with purpose of heart. For many years I did not seek Him at all. I acknowledged His presence but lived life filled with my self interests. I looked for and chased after what the world could give to me.
As we praise God, He shows us our purposes. It is counter intuitive but to find ourselves we must find God first. His passions and desires became our passions and desires.
Today’s Prayer: LORD, we praise You and thank You for who You are and for Your purposes. As we seek You purposes in prayer and scripture reading, we find ourselves and our purposes. Fill us with purpose of heart LORD so we too can bring many others to You. Amen.
