Today’s Scripture: Mark 14:49, NKJV- “I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.””
The Holy Scriptures foretold of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. He stated in Mark 14:49 that these Scriptures must be fulfilled. These Scriptures were recorded for us and about us as well. As Jesus experienced in Mark 14:33, we too can be troubled and deeply distressed.
If Jesus’ soul could be “exceedingly sorrowful” (Mark 14:34), can’t ours be? He told His disciples to keep watch and pray. We must keep watch and pray for what the Scriptures say about us. We are also children of God as stated throughout these Scriptures.
We must resist falling asleep on the job as the disciples did. We must keep watch and pray on what the Scriptures say to and about us. I have learned to take this Word of God personally. As we receive God’s Word, we come to know our troubles will also be used to fulfill God’s plan.
What do the Scriptures say to you?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Scriptures. Jesus, thank You for suffering to fulfill God’s Word. LORD help me to keep watching and praying for what You want to fulfill through me. Thank You for Your Word LORD, that teaches, rebukes, and promises me to be Yours. My hope and trust are in You and Your Word Father, and I am praying and watching to fulfill Your Word. Amen.
