Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV- “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
When we boast and get real with our weaknesses we open up the power of Christ for us and others. I can only boast of my weakness of alcoholism because of the power I have found in Christ and attending Celebrate Recovery meetings for fifteen years. I have experienced firsthand that when we are broken in our weaknesses we find the power of Christ.
God’s power is revealed when we strip away the illusion of our own strength. When we give up the fraud, stop trying to present a perfect life we can experience the perfect life of Christ. Paul boasted of his weaknesses and I do too as they are what have brought me here to you.
I am now in a place of resting in Christ’s power and accepting that I am weak. However, I am not ashamed of my weakness because they continue to bring Christ’ power to me and me to Him.
Are you ready to welcome the power of Christ?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your power. Thank You for the power we receive from the life and death of Jesus Christ. I am boasting of my weaknesses because I want others to know Your power. Thank You LORD for bringing each one of us to our place of weakness. Thank You for my weaknesses that continue to draw me to You so Your power continues to rest on me. I am weak yet You are strong and I am praying now many others are freed from the shame that the world tries to heap on them only to find it is leading them to Your greatest strength. In the peace of Your strength I do pray. Amen
