It has come upon a Christmas day
The LORD and His light will show the way
His glorious light of grace I see
It is Christmas as day gives way
To nights’ promise we cannot delay
The Lord brings light to this day
His Spirit jingles inside of our chests to offer others our very best
His Glory shines brightly to reveal His rest
A son is born; A Son is given
So on this day we must be driven
Driven to those in need and not surrendered to our greed
Selfish desires are not filling
Giving away the Spirit of Christmas if we are willing
Brings hope and joy to a land in need
Hungry mouths we need to feed
A Spirit so loving and true I give this to you upon this day’s dew
May your seeds of love be watered sincere
May those that you love be held oh so near
The Father’s light of this day will soon come around
This joy we feel shall never touch ground
Giving away this glory so divine makes Christmas day truly not mine
But a day of giving away what we have been blessed
To touch with love our neighbor’s distress
The LORD of Heaven please open our eyes
To show the promise of Christ high in the sky
To share deeply where Your Spirit resides
Lord you have blessed us from near and from far yet so many need the promises of your star
High in the sky and deep in our hearts the Spirit of Christmas may they never depart

Thank you Julie! As you well know, I am NOT a poet. I had been in the bed a day with the flu and God woke me up early Christmas morning and like I am sure He has done with you, He inspired me to write…so I did:) Blessings as you celebrate the season.
