Today’s Scripture: Ezekiel 11:19, KJB- “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh:”
Only God can give us an undivided heart. Only by His Spirit can we stay singularly focused on Him. The more “advanced” society has gotten the more divided our hearts and our society have become.
Over 2500 years ago it took God to give the children of Israel a singular heart and it still takes God and His Spirit today. Thank God, the same sanctuary He said He was for those people, He is still our sanctuary today. We can enter His sanctuary by welcoming His Spirit within us.
I am easily distracted. The typical golden retriever personality chasing the next shiny object. However, I am thankful that I can turn to God and be reminded that He is my safe space, my sanctuary, where all things are in order.
With a singular heart and purpose, we can accomplish amazing things. With God’s heart and Spirit, we can complete His will for us and all humankind. For most of my life I have chased my heart, my desires, my flesh, the world, money, work, the Jones’…you name it. All at the same time, not only was my heart divided but only a small part of my heart was His.
I am so thankful when all these divisions of the heart prove so unfaithful, and that the sanctuary of God is always available. We can live in and from the Spirit that God has placed within us starting right now.
Will you thank the LORD for His heart and Spirit and welcome them in now?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty, heavenly, Father, thank You for Your Spirit You have placed within me. LORD, please guard my heart, mind, and soul from the divisions of humankind. I am praying to live in Your sanctuary and Your Spirit, so I live in accordance with Your standards. Make my heart and my spirit Your own so I will complete Your will. Amen.
