Today’s Scripture: Luke 11:1, NKJV- “Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
I am thankful that Jesus gave us the model prayer. Lord Jesus, thank You. I have found that these words provided by Jesus open our understandings and draw us into communion with Him.
As we honor Jesus by following His teaching and as we honor our Father in heaven we can find peace, comfort, and power. Teach us Lord Jesus the fullness of prayer. Grant us Your Spirit of prayer Lord. You are the bread of life Lord, and we are reminded to ask God, the Father for our own daily bread.
Feed us LORD what we need today. We can thank You God for forgiving us and for reminding us to forgive others as You forgive us. Thank You God for guiding and protecting us from our own temptations. In Luke 11, Jesus also instructs us to be persistent in our asking.
Jesus, I am thankful that we are given what we ask for. I am thankful that when we knock, the doors of heaven are opened to us.
Do you pray as Jesus instructed?
Today’s Prayer: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Thank You LORD for Your gift of prayer. Amen.
