Today’s Scripture: Romans 8:2 NLT- “And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.”
Jesus Christ was sacrificed to give us the Holy Spirit. Our flesh has proven too weak to keep the law of God. The Spirit gives us life. As a Pharisee Paul was not free and realized that just keeping the law is not a source of life. Not one of us can be perfect by the law but in the Spirit of God we are perfected.
The Spirit gives us life and hope in God. We can approach the Father in the confession of the weakness of our flesh and praise Him for giving us His Spirit. I find much comfort knowing that the Spirit groans to God even when I do not know what to say. (Romans 8:26)
Thank You Holy Spirit of setting me free. Keep my heart and mind set on You. Help me to fulfill God’s will today.
Do you allow the Spirit to set you free?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Spirit. Thank You for setting me free and giving me life. I give you my heart and mind LORD. I trust in the life You intend for me and trust in Your Spirit to guide me. I am Your child. Please help me keep my mind and spirit set on Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for hearing the groans of the Spirit on my account and use me to the fullest. Amen
