Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:4, NKJV- “who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
Thank You Father God for comforting me, You are the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort Who has reached down to pass Your comfort through me. Out of this gratitude and awareness I am driven to share this comfort I have found.
I have often wondered why I write, and this is out of my desire to share what I have found in the LORD. I have certainly found a comfort this world does not offer. God, the Father, and Creator has provided a comfort beyond the understanding of those who do not believe.
I have come to believe that this comfort I have could only come from God. 2 Corinthians 1:4 explains why I and you have received the comfort we have received. It was not to just be comfortable. No, we were given this comfort from the Almighty so we may comfort others. I am writing to you today to make sure you are aware of a comfort above all comforts.
Regardless of circumstances. When we look to God the Father, we find comfort. His Word instructs us with lessons such as this. We must not look beyond 2 Corinthians 1:5, which also reminds us that we will share in the sufferings of Christ too. We learn we can endure in Christ as well.
Paul wrote to us, not from a comfortable place, but from a place of knowing God’s comfort. I too, write from this place. I am thinking you can share your comfort too. We have or will all reach a place in our lives, our rock bottoms, where we come to realize we cannot trust ourselves but learn we can only trust Him who raises the dead as stated in 2 Corinthians 1:9.
This is a help and a comfort not found in us or humankind. We can set our hope that God will continue to comfort us. We can thank God right now in our prayers. Thank You, God for comforting us so we can comfort others.
What comfort have you received from God can you share with others?
Today’s Prayer: Father God and our Lord Jesus Christ, we thank You for Your grace and comfort. I am confessing this comfort can only come from You. Use my comfort LORD to comfort others. I am turning to Your grace Father God over any worldly wisdom or comforts. Thank You God for being so faithful to us. Please fill us with Your Spirit so we too will be faithful and stand firm in Christ. Amen.
