Today’s Scripture: Genesis 43:23, NKJV- “But he said, “Peace be with you, do not be afraid. Your God and the God of your father has given you treasure in your sacks; I had your money.” Then he brought Simeon out to them.”
The God of Israel granted Joseph’s brothers peace and treasure. This same God gives us peace and treasures today. These brothers worried and feared in face of the unknown. Our nature continues to turn to worry and fear until we return to the peace of knowing it is God, the God of our fathers, the God Almighty who provides for us.
God is gracious to us. However, we may still work with the desperation, perseverance, and resolve of Judah. Although God provides, He also continues to teach and require a desperate love from us. Judah just knew they could not return to Israel without their brother. He knew he was risking it all to go before Joseph.
I must be bold as Judah was here in Genesis 43. I must be God-fearing and God-trusting. We will experience, as Joseph did, that our trials grant us the treasures of saving lives.
Will you trust God for your treasures?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, God of Israel, thank You for the treasures and peace You have given me. LORD, grant me the desperation and boldness of Judah to stand for You. Grant me the thanksgiving and wisdom of Joseph. God, I am trusting and thanking You for sending me here to save lives. I accept all my afflictions as my pathway of peace to Your peace and Your treasures. Amen
