Today’s Scripture: Ecclesiastes 1:2, NIV- ““Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.”
God meets us where we are and gives us meaning. I have found God and the power of prayer and scripture reading. The timing and synchronicity of thoughts and feelings coming into alignment of “happenstance” Bible reading.
As I read the first verse of Ecclesiastes this morning, I learned that Solomon knew how I feel. I also read elsewhere that scholars debate the authorship. Secondly, I was thankful I am not a scholar. I love how God meets me where I am that makes no sense.
As I read the second verse, I actually did laugh out loud. A head back, belly LOL. You see, I attempted to complete my income taxes last night. I went to bed thinking that all the hard work is, well, meaningless.
As I read more verses, I was reminded in Ecclesiastes 2:26 that as we attempt to please God, we find wisdom, knowledge, and happiness.
Do you try to please God even when you do not feel like it?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for hearing me from heaven. Thank You for the promises of Your Word. Thank You for meeting me where I am. I am filled with hope and happiness as I experience Your current nature. You know what I am feeling, and You share the stories of Your servants who felt the same way so that now we find You. Thank You for Your wisdom, knowledge, and happiness. In You LORD, I find meaning and happiness. Amen
