Today’s Scripture: Romans 15:4, NKJV- “For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.”
The Holy Scriptures have been given to us from God through His people. When we go to them, we learn. We learn that we are not alone, and others have endured what we endure. In the midst of life, we have a source of hope.
We have hope in God. The Bible gives us example after example of God’s amazing provision. The New Living Translation phrases Romans 15:4 as “Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.”
Our perseverance and endurance can be tested but when we continue to go to these writings given to us, we do learn patience and comfort that refreshes our hope. God is the source of our patience, comfort, endurance, and encouragement.
Jesus Christ sets the example for us, and we can learn to be like-minded with Him. Will you open His Word today and see what it says to you?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Holy Scriptures. Thank You for continuing to teach us as we read these writings from long ago. We trust You LORD and trust that Your Word was written for us. Thank you for the patience and comfort Your Word provides. Continue to give us patience, Comfort, endurance, encouragement, and hope. I have found hope in You LORD and in Your Word. Thank you. Amen.
