Today’s Scripture: Genesis 41:16, NIV- “I cannot do it,” Joseph replied to Pharaoh, “but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.”
What if it just isn’t in us to do what needs to be done? We need Joseph’s confidence that God will do what we cannot. We can ask God to give us what we do not have. We can also pray for others that God will give them what just isn’t in them.
The sooner we accept that it isn’t up to us, we find peace. Not only do we find peace and what we desire but we recognize God’s work. Many of us fight lifetimes to be someone we are not. We feel insufficient where it is simply something we cannot do.
We can trust that if it is God’s will, it will also be to His glory. We can stop banging our heads against a wall that God simply dissolves into His plan. It is ok to give up to God.
Will you thank God today for doing what you cannot?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, God of Israel and Joseph, thank You for doing what I cannot do. LORD, help me to recognize the work You have for me. Help me LORD to accept the work You alone must do. I am thankful LORD for Your majesty and Your presence. LORD, please grant me the discernment and the faith to trust You and to give You all glory. Amen
