Today’s Scripture: Romans 7:25, NIV- “Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.”
Romans 8:1 states “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” (NIV). This verse from Celebrate Recovery Lesson 25 entitled “Seven Reasons We get Stuck”. In reviewing the previous verses for context, we find that Paul spent the entire previous chapter confessing that although he wanted to do good there was evil at work in him that prevented him from carrying that out.
These admissions by Paul gives us hope that there is also hope for us. If we want to move on and be “unstuck” we must accept Jesus’s deliverance. A thankful heart towards God has a way of blinding our rear view into our past struggles with evil.
Our faith in God and Jesus’s deliverance gives us the desire to do good and to serve God and His people. We do not have to live in fear of slipping and falling but look to live the fullness of deliverance. We can keep moving forward and thanking God.
Are you moving forward in the freedom of Christ?
Today’s Prayer: Thank You God for delivering me through Your Son Jesus Christ. Thank You Jesus for giving me freedom. I am praying to be honest as Paul to share how I have my own struggles with evil yet You, God, have no condemnation for me. I accept that, in Jesus, evil is finished. I am praising You God that we can live a full and thankful life. I am living in Jesus’ law of the Spirit to live a life of freedom. Thank You, LORD. Amen
